Happy November!

Michele at Bardstown

Yes, I know, it’s been a little while. Time got away from me and here’s why.

First, my next book in my Love in the Valley series for Harlequin Special Edition will be out July 2024 and will be called One Suite Deal. We’re going back to Beaumont to meet Edmund Clayton, who’s the cousin of Jack (All’s Fair in Love and Wine). Get ready for a book with all the fun tropes: undercover boss, fish out of water, disguise/hidden identity, and a twist on the love triangle. My deadline was Nov. 1, but my editor asked for it early. That became most of my September.

Then surprise, I went back to work. A district closer to my house needed an English Language Learner teacher at one of its high schools so I started the first week of October. I’m loving working with students for whom English is their second language. I’ve got a great group of kids, no grading and no planning. It’s perfect for this no-longer retired teacher.

I also did some traveling. In September, I went to St. Pete Beach for the annual Novelists, Inc. conference where I learned things and touched base with friends old and new.

In October, I attended Duffy Brown and Tanya Kappes’ Two Dames on a Train Murder Mystery Weekend in Bardstown, KY. We toured distilleries and boarded a train for a great dinner and crime solving. I’m two for two for knowing whodunnit.

Finally, my agent has me out on submission for various things. Manifesting some good news (fingers crossed)! I’m about to start writing Book 5 in the Love in the Valley Series. As soon as I have the cover, I’ll send it along to you.

I’ll be re-issuing my St. Martin’s Press series from 2015. Here, for you, my subscriber, is a sneak peak of the cover for Book 1 and Book 2. I’ll let you know when they are live!

That’s it for now. Wishing you the best month ever and a Happy Thanksgiving. Oh, and in the Christmas spirit, there’s a fun Christmas movie set in Missouri, in Hermann, which I mentioned in my Love in the Valley series as it’s a town just west of my fictional town of Beaumont. Here’s the link. You’ll also see Lambert Airport, one of the settings in the upcoming One Suite Deal. Let me know what you think!
